We've visited the Swettenham Arms several times since the pub became 'dog friendly' but this is our first visit since the management has changed.
The pub has changed hugely for the better under the new management - friendly, attentive service from the manager and staff, lovely food and an expanded dog friendly area meaning we were no longer relegated to the small hard floored area in front of the bar.
Looking forward to our next visit!

Lovely little pub, helpful friendly staff, especially Carlos behind the bar. Nothings too much trouble for them. Theres a lovely lavender garden, and local walks surrounding the pub. We would highly reccomend.

Have been to the Swettenham Arms many times now and on the last few occasions have been served by a gentleman called Ian. He is very attentive and goes out of his way to make our visit an enjoyable experience.

Wonderful experience at Swettenham Arms. Service was wonderful, food amazing-my husband is still raving about his steak today! Special mention to Carl our waiter. Thank you for making it such a lovely evening. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Swettenham Arms to anyone.

Have so many fond memories here my grandparents didn't live far from here so we spent lots of time here over the years basically grew up with this place amazing food atmosphere and people especially lovely in the summer when you can sit outside in the sunshine it's a great place to get together with your loved ones

Served by pleasant young lad, Chase, who kindly put the fire on for me in the small eating area to the left of the pub. Ordered the pork belly, but most of it was fat with very little meat, so left the majority of it on the plate. What I did eat was tasty and nicely prepared. Ordered the rhubarb and ginger dessert with custard. Should have gone for the cheesecake!
Beautiful old pub, quite out of the way, but as I was in the area I wanted to try it out. Glad I did

We had a really nice meal in comfortable surroundings and were able to bring our dogs in with us. Carl looked after us very well and made sure we had everything we needed.

Lovely country pub in the beautiful village in Cheshire. Food is also lovely but forget to take some photos. Fish and chips, and Lamb Hot Pot are good. Friendly staff and good service.

We arrived and were greeted straight away by a lovely man, he went out if his way to seat us with our children and bouncy dog ! He gave us table service due to the pub being quite, was interacting with the dogs and our children. The food and drink came quick and really was perfect. We do not get to go out often and it really made our little day out feel extra special, we will definitely becoming again, what a hidden little gem !

We booked a table here for lunch and ordered the steak pie with my partner ordering the steak sandwich. Both meals came out promptly and were well presented along with tasting really good. Would definitely recommend and will return again.

Much better now and open from 10am too. Well done.
Update Dec 22. Mmm, not quite the same anymore. Change of staff has altered the whole feel of the place. Run out of basic food & drink item (for example - various beers, tomato sauce, chips..). Flat soft drinks. Hope it improves after the refurbishment.
Jan 2021 - Get yourselves over to the Swettenham Arms now. Serving takeaway food and non alcoholic drinks for a bit of normality in this Covid lock down. Then take a walk around the Quinta Arboretum and visit the Church.

The pub was fully booked with food orders, but the bar was still fully serviced so there was no delay for anyone wanting just drinks. This is often neglected at ‘gastro pubs’. The beer was in top condition.

Fantastic roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. Everything was cooked to perfection. Even got a Christmas cracker! Staff were attentive nothing was too much trouble and the atmosphere was lovely.

Menu was limited a bit yesteryear. Lacked in quality ie only rump steaks . Quantities were strange. Ie 5 oz or 10oz I would prefer a 6 or 7 oz as a main meal. Just a personal point.

The environment of the Swettenham pub was friendly, calm, organised, and professional at all times.
All of the staff knew their role within the team, and the way they worked together was seamless. We received excellent service from everyone. We would specifically mention the young women and the gentleman (wearing check trousers), who served us. They were friendly, professional and efficient. They both had great personality and made relevant suggestions when appropriate. They really seemed to enjoy their job.
The food was hot, excellent and served in good time. We thank the Chef for the excellent meal cooked for us.
As a result of our visit, we would happily recommend others to eat at the Swettenham Arms.
